Position Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and resilient Registered Nurse (RN) to join our multidisciplinary behavioral health team. This role includes assignments in both the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) and Inpatient Psychiatry units. The RN will provide direct patient care, crisis intervention, and therapeutic support to individuals experiencing acute psychiatric episodes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver evidence-based nursing care to psychiatric patients in both emergency and inpatient settings
  • Perform mental health and medical assessments
  • Monitor and document patient progress, behavior, and response to interventions
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with clinical guidelines
  • Collaborate with physicians, social workers, and other members of the care team
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff
  • Participate in de-escalation and crisis management using CPI or PMCS strategies
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and hospital policies
  • Required Qualifications:

    • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in [State]
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
    • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) or PMCS (Preventing and Managing Crisis Situations) Certification
    • Minimum of [1–2] years of psychiatric nursing experience strongly preferred
    • Experience in CPEP, emergency psychiatry, or behavioral health triage is a plus

    • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
    • Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations
    • Excellent verbal and written communication
    • Commitment to trauma-informed, recovery-oriented care
