Position Description

Job Title: Clinical Nurse Supervisor – Ambulatory Care

Schedule: M-F 8-5

Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Clinical Nurse Supervisor to lead and support a team across multiple clinical service lines including Pediatrics, OB/GYN, Plastic Surgery, Women's Health, and Ambulatory Care. This role is ideal for a motivated Registered Nurse who thrives in a leadership position and is committed to patient-centered excellence, quality improvement, and staff development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, direction, and oversight to clinical staff in assigned departments.
  • Supervise day-to-day clinical operations, including huddles, workflows, staffing, and documentation.
  • Promote a safe, cooperative, and professional healthcare environment aligned with regulatory standards.
  • Mentor and train clinical staff; assess competencies and coordinate annual evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with quality initiatives, infection control, and hospital policies.
  • Monitor and manage budgets, supply orders, and clinical scheduling.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and appropriate patient education by clinical staff.
  • Collaborate with physicians and leadership to develop and improve patient care plans.
  • Actively participate in performance improvement, disciplinary processes, and patient experience initiatives.
  • Manage clinic workflows and monitor EPIC in-basket messages, work queues, and reporting tools.
  • Place and follow up on IT and maintenance tickets as needed.

Leadership and Communication:

  • Promote open communication, team collaboration, and professional development.
  • Act as a liaison between clinical staff and hospital leadership.
  • Resolve staff and patient issues with professionalism and empathy.
  • Support compliance with hospital and regulatory agency rules and standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related clinical field required.
  • Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Proficiency in clinical workflows, electronic medical records (preferably EPIC), and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented, accountable, and adaptable in a dynamic healthcare environment.
