Position Description

A health services organization in New York City is currently seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their growing Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team in Queens.

About the Opportunity:

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, Part-time (minimum 16 hours per week).
  • Hours: 8am to 6pm (Two 15 min breaks and a 30 min break - paid)
  • Program: Assertive Community Treatment (ACT)
  • Setting: Hybrid
  • Patient Volume: Maximum of 4 clients a day
  • EMR: AccuMED

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) will:

  • Assess and monitor clients' clinical health and response to treatment
  • Lead the development of policies, procedures, and resource identification crucial for delivering nursing services.
  • Conduct psychiatric and physical health assessments.
  • Manage and administer medication in collaboration with the psychiatrist.
  • Administer intramuscular injections and vaccines and perform phlebotomy as per orders.
  • Provide supervision to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs).
  • Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Proficient in working with individuals with Mental Health (MH) conditions, Severe and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI), and Co-occurring disorders
  • Familiarity with the Department of Human Services (DHS) procedures and regulations

Desired Skills:

  • Prior experience in Shelter environments
