Job Overview
The Quality Coordinator is an RN that will oversee the SHOCK/Acute Mechanical Circulatory Support/Durable Mechanical Circulatory Support quality program spanning both the inpatient and outpatient settings. The Quality Coordinator will work in tandem with the Medical Director(s) and other key stakeholders to provide quality review of all cases. The Quality Coordinator will maintain the internal database of cardiogenic SHOCK patients and durable Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) patients and submitting to national registry as required.
Qualifications
Works in tandem with Surgical / Cardiology / Advanced Heart Failure teams for oversight and maintenance of program polices, standards and quality measures in collaboration with the program medical director(s) and other key stakeholders.
Works in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team in reviewing all patients with high end devices and provides quality review.
Leads and participates in process improvement for the program(s) and for the quality of clinical outcomes.
Maintain database(s) for patients, outcome, and complications and submit to national registry as required
Provide comprehensive guidance on the appropriate use of temporary devices enabling staff to deliver safe and positive patient outcomes Maintains files, minutes, and quality presentations in accordance with any regulatory requirements
Refers to other disciplines as appropriate. Integrates research based knowledge and clinical expertise in decision making.
Exemplifies a professional image in appearance, manner and presentation.
Advocate for patients, families, coworkers, and the community.
Maintains certifications and continuing education as required for licensure
Participates in unit/departmental/divisional or hospital committees/task forces as appropriate.
Assists the critical care educator in developing programs to meet continuing education needs

Qualifications
- RN with a minimum of 2 years critical care experience and ability to manage high end devices including but not limited to ECMO, VAD, Impella, IABP, CRRT, in a tertiary acute care setting.
- Experience with Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft products
- Knowledge of EMR programs
- Graduate from an accredited NLN Nursing Program
- Active NJ RN licensure or Compact state licensure with ability to practice in NJ
- CCRN Certification
- ACLS Certification
- Full-Time
- Day
- 37.5 hour work week Mon-Fri
- No weekends, no holidays, no on-call
